Privacy Policy

Grand Passage is a pre-flight planner that keeps your plans where they were made: on your device. Here is the whole picture, without small print.

Effective: October 4, 2026Last updated: October 4, 2026

The short version

1Who we are

This policy covers the Grand Passage iPhone app and this website. “We”, “us” and “our” mean the developer of Grand Passage. If you have any question about this policy, write to mail@starwylf.site.

2What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. There is no account to create and nothing that watches you. The app carries no analytics library, no advertising identifier and no crash-reporting service, and it does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We run no server that receives your trips, and we have no way to see who uses Grand Passage or how.

3Data stored on your device

To work, the app saves what you enter in one private file inside its own sandbox on your iPhone:

  • trips — destination, optional departure city, dates and times, flight details and notes;
  • checklists for each leg of a trip and their progress;
  • your packing library and saved smart packing lists;
  • preferences — the optional traveler name and home city, airport lead times and the reminders setting;
  • a simple flight log: trips planned, flights completed, items checked.

This file never leaves your device through us. Like other app data, it may be included in your own iCloud or computer backup if you have backups turned on; that is handled by Apple under your Apple account settings.

4Optional AI features

Tailor my plan and Smart packing list ask OpenAI’s gpt-4o-mini model to write a destination briefing or a packing list. Both stay off until you accept a clearance screen inside the app. Declining changes nothing else — every other feature works exactly the same.

When you run one of them, the app sends a request directly from your device to OpenAI over an encrypted connection. It contains only flight facts:

Sent to OpenAI

  • destination;
  • departure date and time, or trip length and month;
  • flight duration and landing time;
  • domestic or international, purpose of the trip;
  • checked bag or carry-on only, connection or not;
  • the departure city, if you entered one for that trip (Tailor my plan only).

Never sent

  • your traveler name;
  • your packing library;
  • checklist progress and notes;
  • contacts, location or photos;
  • device or advertising identifiers.

The reply is saved on your device next to the trip. As with any internet request, OpenAI receives your device’s IP address. OpenAI processes the request under its own privacy policy; under its API terms, request data is not used to train its models by default and may be kept for a limited time for abuse monitoring. OpenAI is based in the United States, so the request may be processed there.

5Reminders

If you switch reminders on, iOS asks for permission to show notifications. The three nudges per trip — charge your devices, online check-in is open, time to leave — are scheduled by the app on your device. No push service or server is involved, and you can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings at any time.

6Sharing and exports

You can share a flight plan, a briefing or a packing list as plain text. This uses the standard iOS share sheet, and the text goes only to the app or person you choose. We are not involved in that transfer.

7Apple and the App Store

Downloads, updates and the “Rate the app” prompt are handled by Apple. If you have agreed to share app analytics with developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may give us aggregated, non-identifying statistics such as installs and crash counts. Apple’s handling of your data is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.

8Children

Grand Passage is a general travel utility for adults and is not aimed at children under 13. Because we collect nothing, we cannot knowingly collect anything from a child either. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

9Keeping and deleting data

Your data stays on your device until you remove it. Tap Profile → Clear all data to empty it immediately and cancel scheduled reminders, or delete the app to remove everything at once. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer you.

10Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to its use. Since no copy of your app data exists outside your device, you can do all of this yourself in the app. For anything else, including email you have sent us, write to mail@starwylf.site and we will reply within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined in California law.

11Security

App data is kept in the app’s private sandbox and protected by iOS data protection when your iPhone is locked. Requests to the optional AI features travel over HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but keeping your data on your own device means there is no central database to breach.

12This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads (see Google’s Privacy Policy). Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs for security. If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply.

13Changes to this policy

If the way Grand Passage handles information changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
